Looking to Have a Celebrity Smile? Consider Veneers

Did you know actors used dental veneers as early as 1928? Hollywood dentist Charles Pincus made removable veneers for A-listers like Judy Garland, James Dean, and Bob Hope. The trend has continued and Hollywood celebrities continue to rely on veneers for picture-perfect smiles.

Here’s the best part: You don’t have to be a celebrity to get veneers nor do you have to make the 380-mile trek to Hollywood from Hercules to get a Red Carpet-worthy smile.

Dr. Lovely Manlapaz Teodoro and the team offer porcelain veneers here at The Dental Center of Hercules in Hercules, California.

Read on to learn more about veneers and what they can do for you.

Transform your smile with porcelain veneers

Dental veneers are thin porcelain shells that cover the front surface of your natural teeth. Unlike the earliest iterations of veneers, today’s veneers are permanently bonded to your teeth.

Looking to have a celebrity smile? To get started, Dr. Teodoro first reviews your aesthetic goals and examines your mouth to ensure that veneers are the right solution for you.

What to expect during your first appointment

Once you’re ready to get started with veneers, Dr. Teodoro removes a small amount of enamel from the front and sides of your teeth to make room for the veneers. This means that your new veneers will fit snugly against your natural teeth.

Once your teeth are prepped, she then takes an impression of your teeth. Your impressions are sent to a dental lab where the veneers are custom-made. Your new veneers are made according to Dr. Teodoro’s specifications and can enhance the size, shape, and color of your teeth.

You won’t be left empty-handed. You’ll go home with a temporary set of veneers.

What to expect during your second appointment

When your veneers are ready, you can head back to our office. Dr. Teodoro checks the fit of your new veneers. After any necessary adjustments, the veneers are permanently bonded to your teeth using a special adhesive.

Should you consider veneers?

Veneers don’t just address a single cosmetic issue. Rather, they can correct several issues all at once — now that’s convenient!

You might consider veneers if:

Veneers are designed to be long-lasting. With the right care, they can last anywhere from 10-20+ years.
